At one point, my boys wanted to make some extra money and I, as a single parent ,wanted to teach them about business. We started a little business and made soap to sell at shows. They made a tiny bit of money and the experience helped them to reap big rewards. The kind of rewards that are intangible. Like entrepreneurship, management, inventory control , marketing and hard work. Each one of my boys benefited from this experience to go on as adults to be excellent employees and seeking their dreams.
Then as the boys began to move, I realized I needed to find my own dreams. I have a dream of owning my first house, a small farm that I can run myself to be self sustaining. I love to make everything homemade, especially having a passion of soap. Of course , on my farm would be my small yoga studio and a place where I can create a place of peace where people can spend time healing, breathing and being loved.
When I told people my dream, I was encouraged to lose my dream, live in a one bedroom apartment with a cat or two. ( nothing wrong with cats of course!) I tried that "living small" idea for a minute.......well...politely......."......" that!
It is my intention to be a wild woman, one that is just passionate enough to do this crazy dream. To work long days, long nights, have a grandma's farm where people can come to find a loaf of bread baking, a cup of freshly roasted coffee and a listening ear.
Every bar of soap you buy is helping me to bring that dream closer. The dream of a wild woman who refuses to go quietly away, to live out loud in love and in nature. Each bar you buy will have the ingredients listed and every one of my ingredients , as organically sourced as I can. Each one will be handpacked with a thank you note.
Here's to the wild woman in you and me. May we never be too afraid to dream!
